This winter recruitment period is typically a period of intense rumour and possible big-money moves. Several high-profile stars are being connected to moves away from their current clubs. Here is a look at a selection of the key figures who could be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' inability to reach the AFCON, which has left the forward available, indications are an important move is imminent. The Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract with a sizeable release clause active for a short period in early January. Latest developments indicate Manchester City look to have won the race for his services. Other interested parties such as Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have moved on to other options, leaving clubs like Liverpool or Manchester United to make a last-minute move.

M. Guéhi

The English centre-back has excel for Palace despite a previous move to Anfield collapsing. As his contract due to run out in the summer, January is the club's last chance to secure a transfer fee for their skipper. Numerous top clubs, such as City and several continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly hold an interest. Yet, a winter departure is considered difficult, especially given the manager's reliance on the defender.

B. Johnson

The Welsh winger has had starting minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this campaign. Although being the side's leading goalscorer last season, Johnson has started only a small number of league games. Reports suggest the North London club would be willing to consider a sale for the correct valuation, thought to be in the region of £40 million. The Cherries are currently at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also showing an inquiry.

The Portuguese playmaker might be poised for a return to the Premier League following a period in Saudi Arabia. Villa were initially linked as a possible destination, but that option now appears unlikely. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly expressing interest in the keeper.
